Wilko’s Top Dog Friendly Spots
I love walking around with Willay but I do find if you’re going out for a full day exploring you really need to be prepared and suss out where you can stop to grab a bit or even just a drink. So, here’s our combined list (Me, my sister Rachel and of course, Willay!) of where we like to go. We’ve also added in some of your recommendations sent on Instagram to the list and if we get any more we’ll be sure to add them. We’d love to hear you and your pooches’ favourite spots!
Daniel is the new café from 3fe located on Clanbrassil Street. We popped by here with Willay on a day out and grabbed a coffee and a babychino for Willay. The coffee got a big thumbs up and Willay seemed to love his babychino. The menu is minimal with tea, coffee, brownies, pastries (from Bread Nation) and toasties on offer. You can also help yourself to a free Mikado biccie when you order a drink 😊 What’s not to like. I especially love the look and feel to this place. The perfect spot for Willay to pose for a pic!
First Draft Coffee. We randomly came across this place one day when out walking Wilko on Lennox Street and was so happy when we asked could Wilko come inside, and they said YES! They offer hot drinks and delicious treats and it’s a really nice chilled space to take a break. They also had a dog bowl outside with water which is great for Willay when you’re out walking.
Meet Me in the Morning. This place saved us when the snow storm hit earlier in the year. By the third day we got cabin fever and went for a little stroll (we’re not too far from MMIM) with Willay and went here for brunch. Willay was happy out sitting at the table with us and out of the snow. The food here is delicious. We’re big fans of the greens and eggs dish! Willay also tested the Babychino next door in Reference Coffee and he was super impressed.
The Fat Fox. As dog owners themselves these guys are happy to welcome any pooches inside (just check out their insta). Although they are moving to a bigger space soon I asked would it be dog friendly and they said of course! So, here’s another spot to enjoy good food with your dog. They will also be extending their menu with lots of new exciting dishes to come. They were trialling a S’more brownie during the week so if this is anything to go by we’re in for a treat with their new menu!
Herb Street. We went for brunch here one day as they had loads of covered seating outside and we had Wilko with us. I had spotted a dog bowl with water outside so knew they’d be cool with Willay joining us. The menu offers a wide selection so there’s plenty of choice. I opted for
Network. This place on Aungier Street is another dog friendly spot to add to your list. After a long day out walking me and Willay went in here for a break and a cuppa. It was nice to find a spot that we could chill and get our energy back up for more exploring and sniffing for Willay.
Five Points. We went for Saturday brunch here with Willay. All the staff seemed to be big dog lovers and Wilko was allowed to join inside at the table. There were also 2/3 other dogs with their owners too inside. Plus, they had a dog bowl with water too! P.S. order a side of their black pudding – it’s so good!
Urbanity. This place was a new find and I loved it. Wilko was able to join us inside and chill while we indulged in the delicious food! The acai bow is so good, and they had a salmon special that was top marks. The staff were super friendly and Willay got treated to two of their homemade dog snacks (he was really feeling the love!). I really recommend trying this place.
The Fumbally. Comfy seats, good food and a place to hang with your dog. What more do you want? I’ve always gone for the scrambled eggs because they’re so good and why fix something if it ain’t broke!
Two Pups. I’d heard lots of good things about this place for brunch. Unfortunately, I’d just spent a morning eating, so I wasn’t up to getting a brunch dish from their menu (that looked amazing by the way!). Instead I went for a brownie and a cuppa. Willay seemed to like the vibe in there as he was pretty chilled and relaxed 😊
Fegans. On one of our outings to Smithfield we came across this place. We popped in for a tea break as we spotted a dog bowl outside (always a good sign when you’re out with your dog). Although we didn’t eat the cakes and treats looked sooo tempting. It’s definitely one we need to pay a visit back to.
