TOP 5 Foodie spots, GALWAY.

Hello guys, I recently had a little weekend in Galway for The Hike Life and obviously I made the most of my time there and rolled home! Now, I have been to Galway a million times so there are some spots that are old favourites and others that were new to me and completely blew me away. So next time you’re up W-H-E-S-T make sure to check these out (Listed in no Particular Order. )

ARD BIA at Nimmos

For really good everything ( brunch, lunch, dinner, cake and tea)
Situated by the Spanish Arch it’s always a stop off for me in Galway.
They always have a vegan option per course but have always been really accommodating when changing items around. Their menus are locally inspired, filling and full of flavour.
The restaurant itself is like a renovated barn style its cosy, traditional and ambient.

KAI

For really good lunch/ Dinner and a slice of cake.
Did you know Kai is in one of the top 20 sustainable restaurants in the world?
I always go to Kai for lunch, the menu never the same is dished up with whatever is local and in season, the spread of cakes will have you drooling and the setting once again cosy, organic and somewhere you could totally get lost in time. Since the menu is often changing if youre looking for vegan options you might need to jumble a few dishes around and make up your own plate, but have always helped with this kind of request.
Ps. Try the chocolate brownie meringue cake.

Aniar

For an amazing food experience check out Aniar for dinner. If you’re into tasting menus and ready to experience a whole lot of flavours this is for you, it’s a real foodie spot. The menu changes daily as its seasonal, showcases Irish producers at their best.

Dough Bros

For really good pizza, vegan or cheesy goodness! It was my first time trying dough bros and my god it did not disappoint, I went for the vegan pizza with almond ricotta and I can tell you one thing- I will be back. From a mobile business pop up at festivals and street food markets to a strong establishment in the heart of the city , its lovely to see a family run business booming. Its top quality pizzas at a very decent prize.

You’ll need all the energy you can get with the buzz around Galway so when you’re walking along shop street taking it all in make sure you stroll into coffee works, set in an old restored building it hosts great coffee, fun merch and fancy chocolate for a quick hit.
