June Monthly Must Haves
So, I used to do my monthly must haves and then work got so busy that I totally failed to keep it up! I get asked loads of questions on social media about what products I use or where do I like to eat a lot so I decided to bring this blog post back and I promise I will actually do it monthly going forward. I’m always trying out new things so I’m going to try keep the list as short as possible as I could go on forever. If you do have any questions about products or would like to know things like what other supplements I use or protein powder etc. just drop me a mail info@naturalbornfeeder.com – hope you enjoy the post!
1. Helen James Bowls in Dunnes Stores
I love these bowls! I’m always on the look out for new kitchen ware to shoot food pics. I really like the design of the bowls (pictured above) and they’re great for shooting food in. They’re nice and deep too so you can fit lots of delicious food in them, which is really important of course 🙂 Check them out here
2. Sprout & Co
It’s no secret that I love my food! I’m so happy to see so many great healthy spots opening up in Dublin lately, making healthy eating way more accessible. I lead a pretty busy lifestyle so convenience for me is key. I mostly food prep my meals to be help stay on track and because I love cooking, but it’s nice to take a break from the kitchen every now and again and eat out. I’m currently loving the turkey bowl salad in Sprout & Co.on Dawson street, it’s perfect joint to grab a salad on the go!
3. Kevin Murphy Hair Products
As much as healthy eating and having an active lifestyle will help your skin and hair, I am always on the lookout for great beauty products to give an extra help. I workout daily so as you can imagine I’m constantly washing and drying my hair which isn’t the best. I started using Kevin.Murphy hair products recently and really feel like they have helped protect my hair and help keep it thick and shiny, I use the shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo. My hairdresser introduced me to the brand and I’ve been using it since…def worth a try!
4. The Ketogenic Kitchen – Domini Kemp
I’m a MASSIVE fan of Alchemy in BT2 (if you follow me on Snapchat you’ll def already know that!). Well, Domini is one half of the dream team behind it with her sister, Peaches. The Ketogenic Kitchen, is a collaboration cookbook from Domini and Patricia Daly, who are both cancer survivors and based this book on what they learned and ate through illness to wellness. Pretty inspiring stuff!
5. Bulletproof Coffee
There’s so much hype about bullet proof coffee and I’m a fan. I’m not a regular coffee drinker but I sometimes like to drink coffee before a workout if I need a little extra push in the mornings 🙂 This bulletproof coffee features grass-fed butter and energy-rich oil. You can pick it up here – it def helps in the morning to get you going!
6. Revive Active Joint Complex
I’ve mentioned this supplement before and they will always be top of my list of supplements to take. It’s like a miracle product for me. I used to suffer really bad joint pains after running or long distance training and for some time stopped training long distance which was really frustrating. Shortly after taking Revive Active Joint Complex, I noticed a huge improved in my joints and take them every day. I’m back running long distance now and signed up for Dublin Marathon this year….wish me luck! I’m NOT advising anyone that this is what you should take if you have joint pain, just that they have helped me personally. Everyone is different and if you have joint pain you should consult with an expert.
7. FulFil Nutrition Protein Bars
One word…YUM! They’re tasty and they are Irish (which I love!). I’m always cautious of protein bars and the ingredients in them and usually opt to bake my own. However, I recently met with the guys who created Fulfil and after speaking to them and learn how they have ensure they only use the best ingredients and take all feedback on board from customers on ingredients, I thought that was really important and refreshing to see! They’re a great snack straight after the gym (my fav is the coconut!).
8. Dr. Bronner’s Toothpaste
I started using this for the last month or so. Looking after my teeth is so important to me because healthy gums is actually a really vital key factor to your health. There’s no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or sweeteners in Dr. Bronner’s toothpaste. I’ve become so much more healthy conscious with my food and check where it comes from so it makes sense to start doing the same with beauty products. I’m not saying all products I use are the best or healthiest but I’m trying to make small changes like this…it’s a start anyway! P.S The toothpaste does taste of liquorice which I like but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, there’s other flavours too I think but haven’t tried them. You can pick it up in most health stores like Nourish or Down to Earth.
9. Apple Cider Vinegar
I got sent this a while ago in a big hamper promoting Tipperary produce. I have been taking apple cider vinegar for ages and really like to support local producers so I’ve been using Con Traas apple cider vinegar (they are based close to our family home in Tipp!). They also do the best apple juice if you happen to be driving by 🙂 I take apple cider vinegar in the morning to give my body a kick start. I’m used to the taste but sometimes people mix it with some juice to mask the taste. I discovered that Sheridans Cheesemongers in town stock it, if you’re based in Dublin.
